Quotes from the Education Sector.

David Owen, Head Teacher, Orton Longueville School in Peterborough said " We think that the reVend reverse vending recycling system  has an important impact on the environment near the school but crucially it is an educational tool because it encourages our students to think about the fragility of the Global environment"

Alan Stevens, Associate Principle of Sawtry Community College said, “ We were delighted by the success of the pilot scheme as it has brought a new educational dimension about recycling and the environment to our students.

The entire staff, students and governors are all very excited about working with Reverse Vending Corporation to develop the considerable environmental and social enterprise opportunities that the new reVend reverse vending machine and away from home recycling will open up for our College and our students.”

May 16th 2006 Alan Stevens, associate principal at Sawtry Community College, said his school's win in the environment category spurred the children on to do even greener things this year.

Since winning, the pupils have put in greater efforts to preserve energy and have made improvements to their reverse vending machine, where pupils can dump their cans and bottles to be recycled.

The scheme, which has since been taken up by Orton Longueville School, will hopefully stand Sawtry Community College in good stead as it goes for the Crest environmental award, which rewards work on green issues and is run by the Times Educational Supplement (TES).

Mr Stevens said: "The award spurred the students onto even greater things and gave them a real buzz.

"It gave them a status in school and let them know their work was something of real value. It gave them extra momentum to continue with the project."

Julia Jones, Head of Year 10 at Sawtry Community College said, “ The students were enthusiastic and involved in recycling from the start of the original pilot reverse vending machine and have even been bringing into the College from home their used beverage cans and bottles. Students are already looking forward to seeing their new machine installed and are very committed to reverse vending. They have truly caught the recycling bug.”

Through the capabilities of its reverse vending technology, we offer a range of dynamic initiatives designed to increase the value of the recycling experience for the host and the user.
